Pham Minh Duc

Pham Minh Duc is a German-Vietnamese artist and performer. Pham’s artistic approach is based on the desire to reflect on certain trauma experiences and to establish a new self-image. During this subversive act of care, the artistic work aims to deconstruct normative narratives. It is both the aim and the process of an emerging desire for change, self-empowerment and the desire for self-determined social mobility. Pham's artistic positions can be regarded as individual works, yet in their practice they are intended to be consecutive cycles.

Pham is a graduate of Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design (HfG). In 2020, Pham was a fellow of the Art Foundation of Baden-Württemberg for Visual Arts and currently holds a scholarship for Performing Arts by Fonds Darstellende Künste.
