Max Grünberg

Max Grünberg is a research associate in the Department of Art and Economics at the University of Kassel. His academic background is in cultural anthropology, sociology, and computer science. His research is particularly concerned with questions of algorithmic governmentality and is located at the intersections of political economy, science and technology studies, and media theory. In his doctorate he examines the role of algorithms in the realization of a post-capitalist economic system. He is a co-founder of the Berlin collective Diffrakt, a space dedicated to theory, in which he curates the Machine Dreams series of events.

In 2021, Max was part of KIM (Künstliche Intelligenz und Medienphilosophie) at Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design and taught seminars in the department of art research and media philosophy.
