Matthias Bruhn

Matthias Bruhn is professor for art studies and media theory, with a focus on “Technical Imagination,” at the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design (HfG Karlsruhe). After studying art history and philosophy in Hamburg, he worked, among other roles, at the Warburg-Haus Hamburg and as head of the research group “Das Technische Bild” (2005–18) at Humboldt University Berlin, where he also participated in the Research Cluster “Image Knowledge Gestaltung” and its successor “Matters of Activity”. A current research project in Karlsruhe is “Designing Habits,” a module of the DFG priority program “The Digital Image.”
