Matthias Bruhn

Matthias Bruhn is professor for art studies and media theory, with a focus on “Technical Imagination”, at the University of Arts and Design (HfG) in Karlsruhe. After studying art history and philosophy in Hamburg, he worked, among other roles, at the Warburg-Haus Hamburg and later as head of the research group “Das Technische Bild” (2005–18) at Humboldt University Berlin, where he also participated in the Research Cluster “Image Knowledge Gestaltung”. Matthias is co-editor of “Bildwelten des Wissens”, published since 2003. In Karlsruhe, he is also the project leader of “Adaptive Images”, a module of the DFG priority program “The Digital Image”.
