Jette Schwabe
Jette Schwabe (she/her) (*1997, in Berlin) has been studying scenography and exhibition design at the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design since 2017. Her artistic practice explores the boundaries and hierarchies between scenography and the bodies that engage with it. Her interdisciplinary work operates at the intersection of everyday imagery and surreal worlds. As a scenographer and costume designer, Jette Schwabe works in the fields of performance, film, theater, and installation.
From 2021 to 2022, she was a guest student at the Norwegian Theatre Academy in Fredrikstad. Her work has been presented at the Nationaltheatret Oslo, Theater Rampe, Volkstheater Karlsruhe, and the Brechtfestival Augsburg. Her latest film, IGo, created in collaboration with Lina Determann, was nominated at the 2023 Gwangju Media Art Festival in South Korea.
