Hyeonju Lee
Hyeonju Lee is an artist and filmmaker based in Germany. She received a BA at Gerrit Rietveld Academie, Fine Arts in Amsterdam in 2019 and is currently pursuing a diploma in Media Art at HfG Karlsruhe. In 2014, she completed a curatorial internship at a national museum in Seoul. Since 2018, she has participated in group exhibitions and screenings at Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, SMAK in Ghent, and Pact Zollverein Essen. Hyeonju’s practice encompasses a wide range of media, from writing to painting and film. Her approach is distinctly auto-fictional, drawing on her collective memories to illuminate the surreal aspects of everyday life. Through her work, viewers are invited to immerse themselves in multiple co-existing timelines, offering a rich interweaving of temporal experiences. She is a member of BIPOC at HfG Karlsruhe.
